RMS Titanic (1912)

The RMS Titanic was a British ocean liner that became infamous for its sinking on its maiden voyage from Southampton, England, to New York, USA, in April 1912. At the time of its construction, the Titanic was the largest passenger ship in the world and was celebrated for its opulence and supposed advanced safety features. However, on the night of April 14, 1912, the ship collided with an iceberg in the North Atlantic and sank in the early hours of April 15, resulting in the death of over 1,500 of the approximately 2,224 passengers and crew aboard. This disaster is one of the most notorious and tragic shipwrecks in history.
