Horus is one of the most important deities in Egyptian mythology, often depicted as a falcon or as a man with a falcon’s head. He is associated with the sky, war, and protection. Horus is the son of Osiris and Isis, and his story is central to the Osiris myth, where he avenges his father’s death by defeating his uncle Set in a series of battles to reclaim the throne of Egypt.

Horus was seen as the god of the pharaohs, with each pharaoh considered the living incarnation of Horus on Earth. His eye, known as the “Eye of Horus,” is a powerful symbol of protection, health, and power, frequently used in amulets and artifacts to ward off evil and bring good luck. The Eye of Horus, also called Udyat, symbolizes restoration and healing, derived from the legend where Horus’s eye was injured in battle but later healed by Thoth, the god of wisdom.
