Dutch Katschip (XVII and XVIII)

The Dutch katschip (or kaatschip) was a type of naval vessel that emerged in the 17th and 18th centuries, primarily used by the Dutch for trade, fishing, and, in some cases, light military activities. This type of ship is less well-known than other more famous Dutch ships, such as the fluyt or the galleon, but it played a significant role in the maritime economy of the Netherlands during its time.
