Comet Finder (1832)

The observation of comets in the mid-19th century was generally conducted using refracting telescopes, which were the most common type at the time. Both amateur and professional astronomers employed these telescopes to search for and study comets, along with other celestial objects. The ongoing improvements in telescope optics throughout the 19th century enhanced the ability to detect comets, including those not visible to the naked eye.
