Blue Whale

The Blue Whale is the largest known animal to inhabit our planet, with lengths that can reach up to 110 feet and weights that can exceed 330,000 pounds. These marine giants belong to the order of cetaceans and are found in all the world’s oceans, preferably in cold and temperate waters.

Their diet consists mainly of small crustaceans called krill, which they filter from the water with their enormous flippers. Blue Whales are known for their deep and complex vocalizations, used for communication and possibly for navigation over long distances.
